Sometimes, just take a moment and stir your life just as you stir that tasty gumbo! Taste it to know how delicious it is! Realize just how everything is more colorful when you're in the moment.

I find myself drunk in the dark streets again. A pint of whiskey with just my thoughts. With a stone smile on my face, I nod to the passersby.

People faces were like blank slates earlier. Now are full of emotions ready to be photographed: sorrow, desperation, pleasure, joy, and madness.

At the last drop of whiskey, I begin to ponder a notion: If I couldn't use words to speak, what would be the purpose of my existence?

I close my eyes I can smell the scent of each corner: rotting food from the back of the restaurant, old urine from the junkies and drunks, exhaust fumes from idling delivery trucks, and fresh cut flowers from the flower shop.

Everything is more vivid when I’m not myself, and each night has its own memories! Memories that make me ponder! Memories that rock my nerves and to think about things I did, things I could have done, the right time I could have had courage or humility, the right time I should have never done this or that!

I will soon head home. So until tomorrow evening when again, I will ponder my life in the intoxicating allure of night.
